BMT SUPPLY SYSTEM CLEANING
Problem: The HVAC supply and extraction ductwork serving the patient rooms within the Bone Marrow Transplant Ward required internal cleaning procedures. It was not possible to move these critical care patients. Maintaining the patient room pressurization without shutting the HVAC system down or moving critical care patients was the initial challenge. The day to day care process in this ward had to continue as usual.
Solution: HEPA filtered clean air was supplemented to the patient rooms while supply zones were isolated. We worked in close conjunction with the BMT Ward Doctors and Nurses to develop specialized work procedures for these critical patient areas. Frequent checks and measurements of the room pressurization were conducted to ensure the supplementation process was working as designed.
Result: The supply and associated extraction ductwork was internally cleaned with no disturbance to patients or staff.
Clean Air services has a multitude of experience within Hospital, Laboratory and Critical Care facilities overcoming enormous challenges and providing solutions to ensure that the HVAC cleaning and refurbishment moves forward without any disturbance or issues.
